Sorry to See you Go

Hope you had a great experience at KIS and we wish you all the best in your future!

Before you leave, here are the list of things to do for housing

  1. When are you leaving?
  2. What to leave?
  3. What not to leave?
  4. Q&A

1. When Are You Leaving?

The end of lease is June 30th
  • We need to know when you are leaving to incorporate it into our moving schedule.
  • If you plan on leaving after this date, you will need to discuss your plans with us.
  • We are not responsible for any loss you are incurred from staying longer than 6/30

2. What to Leave?

  • All furniture and appliances that belong to KIS
  • All the manuals, documents you have received during housing induction (what you still have)
  • All keys, access cards and other security related items to be returned to FST member in person (NOT in apartments)
  • Remote controls and other loose devices

3. What NOT to Leave?

  • Anything that does not belong to KIS (Furniture, electric appliances, utensils, rubbish etc.).
  • Cutlery, cooking utensils should be either disposed or usable items to be returned to FST storage.
  • If you have sold something to someone else, make sure they are moved before you leave.

4. Q&A

These are some questions that frequently asked, please add more questions and I'll answer as best as I can.

Q) I’ll leave my access card on the kitchen bench for the next tenant
A) If they’re not returned, replacement fee will be deducted from your deposit

Q) I’ll leave my keys in the mailbox, you can pick them up anytime
A) Keys are a big security issue and if you lose them, you’d have to pay for a new door lock

-- Keys are important security issue and you should take extra precautions --

Q) I know who’s taking over my apartment and I’m going to leave them some of the things I’ve sold
A) Chances are, they may be re-allotted to somewhere else and the moving charges will be taken out of your deposit

Q) These items are so new to throw away, I better leave them so that the next tenants can use them
A) All things that are still in good condition should be brought in to store in the FST storage. Otherwise, cleaning fee will be deducted from your deposit.

There really should be no items that don't belong to KIS left on the property; cookery, plates, cutlery and etc. should all be returned to school or disposed properly. Anything that are left without approval will incur cleaning/disposal fee.

Q) It says that remotes are not to be left in our apartment- do you want us to dispose of the remotes to the air conditioning, school owned TV and DVD player etc?
A) Sorry for the mistake, the remotes and other loose items should be left in the premise. I have corrected my mistake

Q) We will need our building access keys up until we leave for the airport. Can these be turned into our apartment maintenance office?
A) If you have no other way to return the keys before you leave, please speak to Ted (the new housing maintenance in charge) about what keys (and how many) you will need to leave behind. We will need to organise what can be done to securely transferring the keys.
